Small Acts of Kindness That Go A Long Way
Sometimes, we feel like we’re not doing good enough. We get stressed, overwhelmed and feel low in our spirits. I’ve found that the best way to get out of a slump like this is to do an act of kindness. It doesn’t have to be anything big, just something small that will make a positive difference in someone else’s life. Here are a few ideas that you can do literally every day, that require nothing but a warm heart:
1. Smile at someone - this one is a favourite because you can do it any time and multiple times a day, whether you’re at school, work or anywhere in between. Smiling is especially favoured in Islam; even the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself said that smiling is a form of charity
“Every good deed is charity”
2. Give someone a hug - The benefits of hugging are endless. Hugs reduce stress, make you happy and increase feelings of trust. You never know who needs that hug. You can have the opportunity to make someone’s day!
3. Tell a joke - I think that making someone laugh is one of the best ways to uplift yourself and the other person. Laughter is the best medicine!
